St. Gregorios Cardio Vascular Centre Parumala Hosted two International Conferences within our limited facilities but we have provide international standards of gust relations

 

First International Rural Cardiac Care Conference (February 10 and 11th 2007)

This  conference was organized in view of increasing incidence of Coronary Artery Disease in rural area while rheumatic heart disease is still prevalent and congenital heart disease still go undiagnosed. The conference had specialists from various field like Cardiac surgery, Cardiology, Public Health, Telemedicine etc.

The conference discussed in detail how to prevent heart diseases in rural population to help the local physicians to diagnose the heart disease without the help of Echo or ECG. It was also

 

discussed that how medical educational needs to change with changing times for accommodating new diseases and health problems. The prominent speakers of the conference were Dr. Thomas Pezella (US), Dr. Gerald Delvin (New Zealand), Dr. Prasanth Joshi (Malaysia), Dr. Savithri Srivastava (New Delhi), Dr. Joseph Weaver (US), Dr. Roy Joseph (US). Etc.

 

Eurasian Workshop on valve Repair (July 12th and 13th 2008)

This workshop conducted on July 12th and 13th 2008 was a step in direction of providing the cardiac surgeons especially from India and other neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Pakisthan, Srilanka, even Malaysia, Saudi Arabia a chance to interact and learn the skills of valve repair from the stalwarts of the valve repair like Dr. Ottavio Alfieri (Italy), Dr. Califore (Italy), Dr. Thomas Salareno (U.S) and Rimantes (Lithuania), Dr. Sami Kabbani (Syria), Alessendro Frigiola (Italy) were watched with interest and evolved lots of interaction. The wet lab session was also widely appreciated as it gave the cardiac surgeons to get hands on experience of valve repairs under direct supervision of stalwarts.
All the delegates and faculty enjoyed the display and demonstration of Keralas Cultural Heritage Kathakali, Mohiniattam, and Kalrippayattu. All were performed from a stage made on River Pampa. This cultural extravaganza was followed by typical Kerala style dinner. The reaction of the faculty and delegates was of surprise and shock. Both the way the workshop was organized giving them an learning experience along with the grandeur and extravagance of traditions of Kerala elevated there mood and spirits

 

Academic Programmes in Frontier Lifeline, Chennai

BSc, Cardiac Care Technology
Cardiac Care Technology deals with the invasive and non invasive aspects of the diagnosis of Cardio Vascular Diseases. The students will be also trained in anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and other disciplines with emphasis on Cardioac Care Technology with the aim of becoming qualified to help the cardiologist in the diagnosis of Cardio Vascular diseases.

Eligibility – 10, +2 with 40% marks in physics chemistry, Biology, Maths and English.
Duration- 3 Years.

 

BSc, Physician Assistant
A physician Assistant is a healthcare professional qualified by academic and clinical training, to assist Physicians and surgeons in patient care and patient oriented research.
Based on the interdisciplinary nature of health services, the programme will provide a comphrensive foundation in basic science, Social Science and health science application.
Specialized laboratory training will enable the students to take up research in the biomedical field and help in new therapeutic approach.
Eligibility - 40-60% Marks in Physics Chemistry, Biology and Maths
Duration -   3 Years / 4 Years in Semester System.

 

Diploma in Nursing Aide
Nursing Aides also known as Nursing Assistants, Geriatric Aides, Unlicensed assistant personnel or hospital attendants, perform routine tasks under the supervision of Nursing and medical staff. They answer patients call bells, deliver messages, serve meals, make beds and help patients etc, dress and bath. Aides also may provide skin care to patients, take temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure and help patients get in and out of bed and walk. Aides observe patients physical and mental and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing or medical staff.
Eligibility:  A pass in 10, +2 with 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology maths and English.
Duration: 2 years

 

Academic Programmes in Parumala

Our hospital has employed about 100 local youth and indirect job for another 500 to 1000 people have been created due to auxiliary services. We are also started Medical Technician certificate course through P N Panicker Community College and IGNOU so as to provide vocational training to the economically backward youth so as to make them more employable. IGNOU has also approved our centre for conducting PGDCC (Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Cardiology) course from July 2011.
